The retiring Jim Ryan gave a lengthy interview to the PlayStation Podcast, in which he summed up not only his career, but also the history of the brand, and also expressed his views on the future.
PlayStation 5 is entering the second half of its life, with 50 million units shipped to date. This is a solid result, but not definitive. The head of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, is proud of the results achieved and believes that the PlayStation 5 can become the best console in Sony history.
“I would say that we are at the top of our game at the moment. PlayStation 5 is on track to become our most successful console ever, in many ways. I think the games and experiences PS Studios creates are the best we've ever seen.”
Jim Ryan is also proud to offer games created by PlayStation-owned studios.
“The number of games we've released at this point in the cycle exceeds anything we've ever done. And with all the investments we've made in studios and the acquisitions we've made, that number is only going to grow and grow. We are in a strong position and I think the future looks bright.”
