With the official cost of the camera being $1600, it is being sold on eBay for $4450 – $8000

Fujifilm tried its best to prevent the sale of the latest Fujifilm X100VI camera into the hands of resellers, but it didn’t work — There are already advertisements for resale of the new item on eBay, and the prices are impressive: the most affordable option — 4450 dollars, but in general the price reaches 8000 dollars! Let us remind you that the recommended retail price of the camera is $1600.

Recall that as part of the Limited Edition series, the company released 1934 units dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the company. In Europe, the camera sold out instantly, and there were even reports that the official Fujifilm website was crashing, unable to withstand the «onse» potential buyers. In the US, the company decided to act differently. Firstly, only 100 pieces were sold per day. Secondly, each order was processed not by an automated system, but by an operator, with a limit of one unit per hand, to an email address and a physical delivery address. All this was done to ensure that the camera fell into the hands of amateur photographers, and not resellers. But, as it has now become clear, the measures taken by Fujifilm, if they worked, were limited.
