Tamim Antoniades, former game director of Hellblade and co-founder of Ninja Theory, wrote on Instagram, confirming the recent announcement that he is no longer working at the studio. He cited overwork as the main reason for his departure.
Antoniades said that he was tired, but proud and satisfied. He was ready to step away from his duties at Ninja Theory after the completion of Hellblade, but stayed on for two more years to ensure the foundations were laid to fulfill the company's mission of creating life-changing art through technology.
He feels a sense of pride and gratitude towards his colleagues at Ninja Theory, and wants everyone to know that the studio is safe and sound and in the best hands. He thanked Microsoft for caring about the studio and for allowing the team to become who they are.
Antoniades was vague about what he would do next, saying he would always be a “ninja.”
