Disassembly of OnePlus Open showed that only the screws inside the smartphone are made of titanium, which the company talks about in its advertising

But there is a lot of carbon fiber there

Blogger JerryRigEverything disassembled the OnePlus Open folding smartphone and discovered that “extraordinary materials” were hidden inside the smartphone.

To be more precise, the construction uses titanium and carbon fiber. In fact, OnePlus itself directly stated this in its advertising, but the point is that at least with titanium everything is not so simple.

Against the backdrop of the new iPhone Pro, Xiaomi 14 and the upcoming Galaxy S24, where the cases are titanium, only the screws in the OnePlus Open are made of titanium. The approach is very strange, but formally the company did not lie.

As for carbon fiber, it almost completely covers one of the halves of the smartphone inside, probably playing the role of an additional cooling system. There is also carbon fiber in the hinge, which makes it lighter.
