The platform has changed several payment programs for streamers, which will not in any way affect how they conduct their broadcasts
The Twitch service has made some changes to several of its programs at once, increasing the size of payments to streamers. As the site notes, the innovations are aimed at “creating a long-term and transparent streamer remuneration system that rewards creators who take streaming seriously”.
- More streamers will have access to increased net revenue shares from paid and gift subscriptions
- Now for every country where available Prime Gaming subscription, flat rate
- The $100 thousand threshold has been eliminated for streamers with revenue split 70/30
“Previously, after reaching $100 thousand in net subscription revenue per year, the revenue share from 70% returned to the standard 50%. We received clear feedback that the $100K threshold limited revenue and growth opportunities for the streamers it applied to and acted as a deterrent.”.
On May 1st, some changes to Twitch's expanded affiliate program, launched in October 2023, will take effect:
- Even affiliates will be able to receive access to an expanded program, when previously only partners had such an opportunity
- The threshold for obtaining a 70/30 split of net income shares was reduced from 350 points to 300 points
- A new level will be added to the program. If a streamer earns at least 100 points for three months in a row, he will receive the right to share the net income from paid and gift subscriptions to his channel in the ratio 60/40
