Via mobile messengers

According to the AvtoVAZ Security Service, several companies belonging to the AvtoVAZ Group have recently become victims of fraudulent attacks via mobile messengers.

The fraudulent scheme is as follows: attackers contact employees on behalf of the manager, using fake identification. Posing as an employee of the Russian FSB, they offer cooperation to check the alleged leak of personal data. Messages are coming from unknown numbers.

The attackers use numbers with which the manager was previously in contact. Then a call appears in the messenger on behalf of an alleged Russian FSB officer who receives personal data or other protected information, after which the blackmail begins.

To enhance credibility, scammers add photographs of printed instructions and orders of the FSB with seals and signatures of real civil servants. Then it is proposed to resolve the situation through the payment of a bribe.

The AvtoVAZ security service recommends being vigilant, not performing the actions specified in the message, avoiding contact and not trying to contact the attackers yourself.
