Vanillaware's tactical RPG has outsold its last major game, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, at an impressive pace.
Vanillaware's Unicorn Overlord came out during a busy month, with Rise of the Ronin and Dragon's Dogma 2 arriving almost two weeks late. The game received an impressive response and topped the Japanese sales charts for two weeks. Atlus released a trailer confirming that it has sold over 500,000 copies.
For comparison, the developer's last major game, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, released in Japan in November 2019. and worldwide – in September 2020. It has sold over 300,000 copies by January 2021.
Unicorn Overlord is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The developers reported that there are no plans for a PC version yet.
