The creators of Overwatch 2 continue to push decisions that lead to surprising consequences. Blizzard managed to distinguish itself again by trying to revise the hitbox system

Recently, the creators of Overwatch 2 presented a major update. Among other things, Blizzard has revised the size of most damage-dealing projectiles. They have been “increased using a new general modifier.”

As a result, Overwatch 2 players are faced with the fact that they no longer need to really aim: a shot that clearly goes past the character's head , will be counted as a headshot (this is not just a slight relaxation, the gap between the point of impact and the head model is quite impressive).

This state of affairs made someone happy, because in such conditions are more comfortable to play, but still a certain dissatisfaction began to boil in the game community.

Blizzard acknowledged the problem of unfair headshots in Overwatch 2 after a major update

The degree of dissatisfaction turned out to be such that the creators from Blizzard paid attention to it. Alec Dawson, one of the Overwatch 2 team members, said:

«We continue to monitor the full impact of the changes in Season 9 . While we want to give the changes some time to settle in, there are a few issues that we will address shortly

Fine tuning of projectile size changes for some heroes and some health adjustments are expected. Accuracy rates are as intended, but some are a bit high“.
