The Xbox line of game consoles may be undergoing a very serious change. And it’s not even about the possible transition to Intel processors. One of the new Xboxes could reportedly be portable.
New data suggests that the future generation of Xbox will again include two consoles. But if the older one will be a familiar classic console, then the younger one will not continue the Series S concept, but will be a direct competitor to the Nintendo Switch. Yes, it will be a portable set-top box that can be connected to a TV via a docking station.
Of course, it will not be possible to fit the power of a full-fledged next-generation home console into the form factor of a portable console, but it is reported that such a console will be focused on cloud gaming. True, it is unclear whether it will be used only for this, or whether it will be based on some kind of processor for running games directly on the console.
Considering that Sony is allegedly preparing its new portable console, such a step on Microsoft’s part looks quite logical.
