After years of effort and the purchase of part of Intel's business
Apple may stop trying to create its own 5G modem.
Let us remind you that the company has been working on its own modem for several years, but is constantly shifting plans for the release of such a product. In particular, the corresponding Intel business was purchased back in 2019.
However, the initial plans to create a chip by 2023 were not realized, and then data appeared that Apple postponed the release of the first smartphone with a modem of its own design, first to 2024, and then to 2025 or even 2026. Sources said Apple's design was plagued by a number of technological issues, including overheating and poor performance.
If the latest data is correct, it is quite possible that Qualcomm will indirectly confirm this in the foreseeable future by announcing the conclusion of another long-term agreement with Apple.
Information was also shared by insider Revegnus, who was previously the first to publish a photo of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 before its release, reported on the AMD GPU in the Exynos 1480 SoC, and also described the characteristics of the Exynos 2400, which were then confirmed in Geekbench software.
