Back in April 2023, journalist Jason Schreyer reported that the game had been delayed, leading to speculation that Rocksteady was considering removing the online requirement.
Schreyer has denied these claims, but Windows Central contributor Jez Corden said he is aware that Suicide Squad is being delayed to “remove/rework the online component.”
< p>It looks like Corden and Schreyer were partly right. Rocksteady plans to eventually remove the online requirement, but it is unlikely that Suicide Squad's delay is related to this, since the offline mode will not appear until February 2, 2024.
“We are pleased to confirm that we are planning to add an offline story mode, which will give players the opportunity to complete the main campaign without an internet connection. We will add an update in 2024 and will provide details when available.”
