AMD is not forgetting about the line of processors released in 2020, and has revealed new models based on the Zen 3 architecture.

The Computex 2024 exhibition currently taking place in Taiwan is pleased with the announcements of new devices from technology companies. AMD decided not to lag behind and, along with the announcement of flagship devices, introduced an expansion for the Ryzen 5000 processor family. The line will be complemented by processors based on the Zen 3 architecture: AMD Ryzen 9 5900 XT and AMD Ryzen 7 5800 XT.

The Ryzen 7 5800XT features eight Zen 3 cores on a single CCD and is virtually identical to the old 5800X. The maximum power consumption (TDP) of the processor is 105 W, the L2 + L3 cache is 36 MB. The clock frequency of the new processor is 4.8 GHz versus 4.7 for the 5800X. Thus, the 5800XT will be the fastest eight-core processor in the lineup.

The new products provide a potential upgrade opportunity for users using motherboards with the AM4 socket.

Official information on the retail price has not yet been received. However, earlier information appeared on the network that they would ask for $249 for the 5800XT and $359 for the 5900 XT, respectively. AMD later stated that this was an error and the final price would differ. Nevertheless, we were promised that the new processors will be a good offer in terms of price/quality ratio.
