This is a new record
According to the SteamDB database, a record number of games were added to the Steam catalog last year.
To be more precise, 14,531 games were released on the platform during the year, that is, almost 40 games per day. Previously, the record was held by 2022 with 12,559 games, an increase of almost 16%. It was also the fourth year in a row that the number of games on Steam grew. Considering that interest in computer games continues to constantly grow, these results are not surprising. But if you look at the progress, then in five years the number of games that are released on Steam per year has increased by 1.8 times, and in 10 years — almost an order of magnitude.
Recall that Steam recently announced the results of player voting for the best games of the year, and the prize was taken by Baldur's Gate 3.
