As long as it is voluntary, they promise not to raise prices
The experiment on labeling radio-electronic products in Russia has been expanded: the list now includes laptops and smartphones. A decree on this was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, it was published on the official portal of legal acts.
The experiment on marking radio electronics started on December 1, 2023, it already included sockets, lamps and lighting equipment, and now laptops, tablets, smartphones, phones and printed circuit boards have been added. In addition, the period of the experiment was extended — until August 31, 2025.
Marking of laptops, smartphones and phones will be carried out from June 10, 2024 to April 30, 2025, and marking of printed circuit boards — from July 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025. Participation in the experiment is voluntary, goods will be tracked using the marking tools of the «Honest Sign» system. At the pilot testing stage, 70 companies are participating in the project.
It is expected that the experiment will help test technologies for applying labels to goods, work out the interaction of sellers with the labeling system, and remove counterfeit goods from the market. According to statistics, the share of counterfeit smartphones now reaches 31%, laptops — 30%, smart watches — 63%. According to Dmitry Gorelik, Director of Industrial Labeling at the Center for Industrial Labeling (operator of the «Honest Sign» system), the experiment will not affect the cost of laptops, tablets and phones.
