Chinese company CAS Space plans to launch space tourism in 2028

Ships will be sent to the edge of space every 100 hours

Chinese space company CAS Space, a subsidiary of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), announced that its space tourism ship will make its first test flight in 2027. The company plans to conduct suborbital flights, as do Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin. CAS Space plans to send space tourists to the edge of space in 2028.

The company announced that its «vehicle for space tourism» will include a cabin with four panoramic windows and will be able to carry seven passengers per flight. The CAS Space website states that the device, with a diameter of 3.35 m and a height of 3 m, has a load capacity of up to 1000 kg. It is capable of rising above the ground approximately 100 km and staying there for up to 550 seconds (less than 10 minutes).

CAS Space plans to organize launches every 100 hours, using ten ships that will depart from the newly built aerospace theme park. The cost of the flight will be from 2 to 3 million yuan (more than 400 thousand dollars) per person.
