600 Activision workers gather in gaming industry's largest union

The union is based on five core principles: democracy, diversity, equality, solidarity and transparency

600 quality control workers from several Activision Blizzard studios have formed the largest union in the gaming industry, Activision Quality Assurance United. The Communications Workers of America (CWA) union helped them in this difficult task.

Microsoft has already voluntarily recognized the union, having concluded all the necessary agreements with the CWA.

A CWA spokesperson told Polygon that compliance officers are among the lowest-paid and most underprotected jobs in the gaming industry. These people regularly work overtime and are often among the first to be laid off if the company starts having some problems.

Activision Blizzard persisted in its fight against unions for a long time, and even refused to increase the salaries of Raven Software testers who were members of such an association.
