And no noisy tiny fans are needed. MSI SSD Spatium 570 Pro Frozr with large tower heatsink introduced

Tests show that such cooling is very effective

Solid-state drives with PCIe 5.0 interface require cooling, and manufacturers are not shy about using rather large models. MSI announced the SSD Spatium 570 Pro Frozr, which received its own tower cooler.

The device is based on a Phison E26 controller and 232-layer Micron 3D TLC memory. MSI talks about 12,400 MB/s read speed and 11,800 MB/s write speed. The endurance value is stated to be 1400 TBW.

The oversized radiator allows you to do without a fan, which in the case of SSDs are usually very noisy due to their small size and high rotation speed.

TechPowerUp tests show that the temperature under load without direct airflow does not even reach 60 degrees, and with airflow it even drops to 40 degrees. Considering that without cooling, SSDs with PCIe 5.0 heat up to 100 degrees or more, which can cause them to turn off or throttle, this is an excellent result. Performance results are also excellent: the source says that this is generally the fastest SSD tested in their laboratory.

It remains to add that the new product costs $300 for the 2 TB version, and the prices of the 1 and 4 TB versions have not yet been announced.
