The update size is quite large – 1,186 GB
Sony has announced the release of a new system software update for its PlayStation 5 game console. The update, numbered 01/24-08/60.00, has already begun to spread among users around the world. It brings a number of new features, as well as bad news for lovers of Cronus Zen devices.
Among the announced innovations:
- new functions of «Parties» — you can view the list of parties you have joined previously.
- software update for Pulse Explore wireless headphones — there is a new equalizer and Sidetone function, which allows you to better hear your own voice in voice chats.
Additionally, a notice on the Cronus website warns players that the PS5 update 24.01-08.60.00 no longer allows Cronus Zen to connect to the console. We are talking about fairly well-known gadgets that allow you to cheat in first-person shooters and other games. Although Cronus markets the device as a “controller emulator,” scammers use it to perform all sorts of digital tweaks to their controllers, such as reducing recoil and setting macros. Cronus has not yet announced when the devices will work again.
The new firmware is already available for PS5 users to install. System updates are usually automatically downloaded to the console. You can also download the latest firmware manually through the PS5 system settings (Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update).
