easyJet has confirmed a major order for an additional 157 Airbus A320neo family aircraft.

This bulk purchase has been approved by the board of directors. The firm order includes 56 A320neo aircraft and 101 A321neo aircraft, demonstrating easyJet's commitment to delivering modern, efficient and environmentally friendly air travel. Notably, this order also involves increasing the existing order for 35 A320neo aircraft to the larger A321neo.

According to Johan Lundgren, CEO of easyJet, this significant order plays a crucial role in the company's plans. By replacing older aircraft with more efficient alternatives, easyJet not only improves its environmental sustainability, but also sets the stage for sustainable growth.

Lundgren emphasizes: «With this order, easyJet will be able to further strengthen its leading position at major airports in Europe, and we therefore look forward to working with Airbus in the coming years».

The collaboration between easyJet and Airbus is highlighted in comments from Christian Scherer, Commercial Director and Head of International at Airbus. Scherer emphasizes mutual commitment to decarbonizing the aviation sector.

This significant investment in the most fuel-efficient aircraft capable of using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is a testament to our joint commitment in this regard. Recognized as the world's most popular single-aisle aircraft, the A320neo family has received more than 18,000 orders from nearly 140 customers worldwide. Using advanced technologies such as next-generation engines and Sharklets, the A321neo boasts an impressive 50% noise reduction, over 20% fuel savings and reduced CO2 emissions compared to its predecessors.
