YouTube has changed its own rules on harassment and cyberbullying in response to the spread of generated AI -content about high-profile criminal cases depicting people with subsequent descriptions of violence. Some of the videos feature fairly realistic voices of children, and families of the victims have already called such videos “horrible.”
From now on, such content is prohibited on the video platform – it is described with the wording: “realistically simulating dead or beaten children, as well as victims of crimes or fatal events.”
For violation, a warning and removal of content from the channel, as well as temporary restriction of the user’s actions on the platform are provided. For example, with the first warning, the user will not be able to upload videos for a week, and with a second warning, within 90 days, the penalties will increase with the possibility of completely deleting the channel.
YouTube previously allowed the monetization of videos with twerking and breastfeeding, and also updated the rules for the use of AI on the platform – studios will be able to remove content that imitates the voices or music of artists, and in the meantime, authors will be required to indicate the content for which they were created Generative technologies were used.
