Xiaomi responded only after the story was widely publicized
An interesting incident happened in China with the latest Xiaomi SU7 electric car. Mr. Wen's car from Xiamen (Fujian Province) broke down after traveling only 39 kilometers. The hype electric sedan refused to drive further, having previously issued the following messages: «The car is about to stall. Please stop safely and contact a service center» and «The drive system is faulty».
It is logical that Mr. Wen wanted to replace the broken car, but that was not the case: the employees of the dealership reported that the replacement of the car could not be made, since the produced and produced SU7s were already assigned to specific owners (present or future). The dealer also stated that Xiaomi cannot be held responsible for the user and will not cover losses incurred when returning the car.
Then the car owner published a correspondence with the dealer on social networks — and only after that Xiaomi head office responded to the story. After some internal investigation, the car was taken away to find the cause of the malfunction, and Mr. Wen was promised a new car and compensation for the costs associated with returning the car.
