And with fast chargers the situation is much better
Xiaomi SU7 demonstrated high charging speed when tested with a Huawei charging station. The car comes in three different versions: SU7, SU7 Pro and SU7 Max. A Xiaomi SU7 Max user conducted a test on a Huawei station and shared the results online.
The test results showed that the car's power consumption stabilizes at around 180 kW. As a result, the car gained 10 km of power reserve in just 30–40 seconds (every 3-4 seconds the power reserve increased by 1 km).
When the on-board computer screen showed a range of 216 km, the remaining charging time was only 26 minutes. At that time, the power consumption was 181 kW, charging voltage — 753 V.
According to other tests, a 600 kW charger can charge the SU7 Max from 0% to 99% in 47 minutes, with maximum and average charging power of about 276 kW and 140 kW respectively.
Xiaomi also shared official data from its tests. The company said that the SU7 Max can travel 220 km and 510 km after 5 minutes and 15 minutes of charging respectively. Obviously, we are talking about fast charging.
Xiaomi has officially stated that it has tested the Xiaomi SU7 with more than 2,000 different charger models from different brands. The company has also collaborated with third parties to conduct charging tests, and the test results show the vehicle is compatible with most available options.
