The management of Xiaomi and Redmi is actively preparing the public for the announcement of the new flagship smartphone Redmi.
The latest Weibo post by Xiaomi President Lu Weibing says that the head of the Redmi division, Wang Teng Thomas, showed him the new flagship, which turned out to be «very, very powerful».
Earlier, Digital Chat Station insider reported that the Redmi K80 Pro will be built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4 single-chip system and will become the brand’s most powerful smartphone. It will be released in the fourth quarter of this year.
Snapdragon 8 Gen4 is reported to use Qualcomm's proprietary Nuvia Phoenix architecture. The Snapdragon 8 Gen4's GeekBench 6 single-core score exceeded 3,000 and its multi-core score was over 10,000, beating the A17 Pro's score of around 7,500.
Digital Chat Station previously published updated specifications of the Redmi K80 Pro, saying that it will be equipped with a 50-megapixel sensor and a telephoto camera with 3x zoom. In addition, the insider mentioned that the phone will have a 2K resolution flat display and will be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. The phone will have a 5500 mAh battery and support for 120 W charging.
