PCI-SIG, the organization responsible for the development of PCI Express, announced that the PCIe 7.0 specification is now available in version 0.5. This happened after the release of version 0.3 in June 2023. The new standard initiative was launched back in June 2022.
PCIe 7.0 boasts 128 GB/s data transfer speeds and 512 GB/s bandwidth for bidirectional interfaces via a 16-lane configuration. It uses PAM4 signaling and focuses on improving energy efficiency.
