Without using credit funds
Experts «SberAvto» analyzed data on car sales in their service over the last year and provided information on the preferences of Russian buyers who purchase cars without using credit.
According to the study, buying cars for cash accounts makes up only 5% of all transactions in the service, while the median cost of one such transaction reaches 1.25 million rubles. The most active buyers of cars for cash are residents of Moscow (36%), St. Petersburg (8%), Krasnodar Territory (4%), the Republic of Tatarstan (4%) and the Sverdlovsk Region (4%).
New cars account for 27% of all cash transactions. Among the brands, the most popular are Lada (43%), Chery (15%), Haval (14%), Geely (6%) and Hyundai (4%). The most popular models in this category include Lada Granta, Haval Jolion, Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max and Geely Coolray, with a median purchase price of 2.05 million rubles.
The majority (73%) of cars bought for cash have mileage, their median cost is 1.2 million rubles. Most often these are cars of the brands Lada (17%), Kia (12%), Hyundai (10%), Nissan (7%) and Renault (5%). The most popular models in this category are Lada Granta, Lada Vesta, Kia Rio, Ford Focus and Hyundai Solaris. The most popular years of production of cars without borrowing funds are 2012, 2018, 2014, 2017 and 2019.
