A note appeared on Habr describing a new problem faced by owners of «parallel» BMW in Russia. As soon as the machine realizes that it is in Russia, it «falls off» connecting a smartphone to a standard media system. For example, if you connect an iPhone, the message «This device cannot be connected will appear on the display. Bluetooth version is no longer compatible».
There is a way out of this unpleasant situation: you need to turn off the telemetry unit. Then the connection between the media system and the smartphone will work as usual, but some other car functions will stop working. Here you will have to decide what is more important.
