Nvidia is still the undisputed leader
Analysts at Jon Peddie Research assessed the discrete video card market last quarter.
According to the source, since 2000, a total of 2.3 billion discrete video cards have been sold worldwide, worth about $482 billion.
Last quarter, Nvidia's share decreased significantly year-on-year: from 86% to 80%. At the same time, AMD increased its share even more significantly: by 7 percentage points, to 19%. Intel's share fell from 2% to 1%.
In total, 9.5 million video cards were shipped to the market last quarter, which is 32% more than the year before. AMD somehow increased shipments by an incredible 117%, while Nvidia — by 22.3%.
