So far only 30-40% of the entire complex of static tests has been completed
Static tests (that is, tests on the ground, on a bench) of the imported Russian aircraft SSJ New (aka RRJ-95NEW, aka SJ-100) will be completed only in 2025. Deputy Director for Science of SibNIA Dmitry Smirnov spoke about this.
«We are now carrying out preparatory work for testing the engine pylon of the imported Superjet aircraft. Everything goes according to plan. We plan to complete the tests in 2025», — he said. Dmitry Smirnov specified that we are talking about the first half of 2025.
It is reported that 30-40% of static tests have passed so far. «Everything is correct, the structures can withstand the specified loads. In 2024, tests of the strength of the wing and tail will be carried out», — added Dmitry Smirnov.
Recall that last year Rostec reported that serial SSJ New and MS-21 will appear in 2025-2026. Judging by the fact that only static tests will last another year, SSJ New should be expected in the sky in 2026.
