At the end of April, sales of premium cars dropped by 18.4%
According to data from Autostat, Russians began to buy fewer premium cars.
At the end of April, 15,588 of these machines were sold, and this is the lowest figure since the beginning of the year. In monthly terms, sales dropped by 18.4%, which is very significant. By comparison, the overall market fell 6.5%.
Thus, premium cars accounted for 11.4% of all sales versus 13% in March. Unfortunately, the source does not provide last year’s figures.
The lion's share of premium cars in April were of Chinese origin. More precisely, three quarters of the cars came from the Middle Kingdom. The leader here is the Exeed brand with 4,402 cars sold, followed by Tank with 2,409 cars sold, and Lixiang closes the top three with 2,238 cars.
Among the usual premium brands, BMW remains the leader, but only 1,409 such cars were sold in April. However, this was enough to take fourth place in the overall ranking. And in fifth place is the Voyah brand with 957 cars.
