You can pay with Russian cards in tourist regions, in Banco de Venezuela terminals
Payment system «Mir» announced the start of accepting Russian cards at POS terminals of the largest acquiring bank in Venezuela — Banco de Venezuela. We are talking about the launch of the Russian system «Mir» in Venezuela was going on this summer at the SPIEF 2023 forum: the head of the country’s Central Bank mentioned it at a session on dedollarization. And now an official message from the press service of the «Mir» system has appeared.
First of all to accepting cards «World» trade and service enterprises have been prepared in the most popular tourist areas of Venezuela: in the Capital District, in the state of Nueva Esparta on the islands of Margarita, Coche and Cubagua, as well as in Bolivar. Now tourists from Russia can pay with «Mir» in stores, hotels, restaurants and other businesses served by Banco de Venezuela.
The press service of the Russian payment system notes that a feature of the Venezuelan payment infrastructure is the presence of several POS terminals at one enterprise. Maps «World» are accepted at Banco de Venezuela terminals. The number of partner banks of the «Mir» payment system in Venezuela and the geography of accepting Russian cards will continue to expand, as the press service emphasized.
