In February, the company «Motorinvest» announced the launch of production in Kaliningrad at the facilities of «Avtotor» crossovers DFSK ix5 and ix7, at the same time the characteristics were announced and prices were revealed. But, as it turns out now, cars will not be assembled in Russia — the pilot project was considered unsuccessful.
DFSK ix5 and ix7 will still appear in Russia, but these cars will be imported from China. Alas, the previously announced all-wheel drive for the DFSK ix7 will not be available: due to the low demand for all-wheel drive cars in China, it was decided to abandon the production of such vehicles. Previously announced prices are likely to change, but there are no specifics on this yet.
DFSK iX5, let us remind you, is a rather large (length — 4685 mm, wheelbase — 2790 mm) coupe-crossover. The base for it is stated to be a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a power of 137 hp. with a CVT, in the top version — 2-liter turbo engine with 231 hp. with automatic transmission.
DFSK ix7 is comparable in size to the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado: length — 4930 mm, wheelbase — 2810 mm. It seats seven. Under the hood — 2-liter gasoline turbo engine with a power of 231 hp, paired with an «automatic».
