The Tecno brand itself is in ninth place
Transsion Holdings may be unknown to many, but it owns the brands Tecno and Infinix, which are actively gaining momentum. And thanks to their growing sales in the third quarter, Transsion increased its revenue by 39%, to 18 billion yuan ($2.52 billion).
The holding's net profit increased by 190%, to $188 million. It was Transsion's best quarter ever.
Counterpoint analysts also provide some data on Tecno, as the largest brand of the holding. It sold 12 million smartphones last quarter, setting a new record for Tecno. For comparison: a year ago, sales were 7.4 million. Such sales helped Tecno take 4% of the entire smartphone market, as opposed to 2.5% a year earlier. Tecno is now in ninth place in the market, and Transsion, if we count all its brands, is already in fourth place!
