For their campaign, the UK Armed Forces even asked one of their technical specialists to make a map for a shooter
The British Army is trying to use Fortnite Creative to recruit new recruits. His Majesty's Armed Forces even edited the video on a specially created map for their advertising campaign, where players can work together, test their strength, solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. Army is also planning to broadcast the match live on the map next week.
As you might guess, the video collected a lot of angry comments:
“The army made a map so that recruit 13-year-old children.”
“Ugh, military propaganda in Fortnite.”
“It’s somehow immoral to advertise the army to children, don’t?.”
“This same game for children. No shame.”
“Are you crazy over there or something? Do you even know the demographics of Fortnite ? You are trying to recruit children.”
The video notes that Epic Games has nothing to do with the advertising campaign of the British army, however players and journalists still had questions about how this even became possible, because the Fortnite Creative user agreement states that the mode cannot be used for “conscription into the army.”
Epic Games hastened to explain to reporters that the creation of the British army is still going through the moderation process, but did not clarify whether the company knew that Fortnite Creative would be used by the army for such purposes.
