Driver was surprising in its elaboration, but not all players were able to find out that this game is not about performing car maneuvers in a parking lot. Some people remember this introduction for the rest of their lives.
The classic Driver (1999) met players quite harshly. The intro suggested performing a series of stunts in a car in a small enclosed space in a minute, which for some became the “ending”. in 23 seconds and therefore it seemed that giving 60 seconds to the players was even too much. Practice has shown that everything is much more complicated and an ordinary player who was not involved in the creation of Driver can get stuck here for a long time: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/3sgMdz2Gpv0
A player under the nickname Admirable-Design-151 remembered about Driver (1999) after almost 25 years. It was a discovery for him that this game had a separate training mode, which allowed him to get to know everything better and understand what the developers wanted.
Other users remembered how many years ago we got acquainted with Driver: someone rented the game and could not overcome all the tests in the allotted time; some simply did not know English at the level to understand all the terms, like slalom or burnout, and also could not advance further..
