AMG G63 with its 4.0-liter V8 is almost half a ton lighter
Today the official premiere of the electric Gelendvagen took place. The SUV turned out to be not the most powerful, expensive (from 142 thousand euros in Germany) and, characteristically, very heavy. In fact, this is the heaviest «Gelendvagen» in history.
The weight of the Mercedes-Benz G580 with EQ Technology is 3060 kg. For comparison, the weight of the top-end Mercedes-AMG G 63 with a 4.0-liter V8 — only 2620 kg, and the weight of a regular Mercedes-Benz G500 — 2465 kg. It is not surprising that with a traction battery with a capacity of 116 kW·h the range is only 473 km.
