Infiniti, in fact, announced the production version of the QX80 last summer, showing the QX Monograph concept. Its interior was kept secret, but the appearance was almost identical to the final version. Now all the details have been revealed.
The Pure, Luxe and Sensory trim levels remain, joined by a new top-end Autograph model that is most similar to the Monograph concept. All QX80 models feature distinctive LED daytime running lights and full-width taillights that play a welcome sequence, including an animated light show projected onto the ground. QX80 Autograph — It's the only model with a two-tone roof, dark chrome exterior trim and unique 22-inch wheels. Its interior also features exclusive features such as open-pore ash wood and partial hand-stitched leather upholstery.
Most of the dashboard is occupied by a pair of 14.3-inch touchscreens. The dashboard is complemented by a new head-up display. The infotainment section is equipped with an Android operating system with a built-in Google app store, maps and voice assistant. There is support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technologies. The previous QX80 had four USB ports, the new version has eight USB-C throughout the cabin.
The old gear lever has been replaced with a push-button shifter, and physical climate control controls have been replaced with haptic touch functions on a 9-inch screen at the front of the center console. Interestingly, the QX80 now has a “Biometric Cooling” feature that uses an infrared sensor in the headliner to measure the body temperature of passengers and, if necessary, automatically sends air to cool them.
The QX80 still offers three rows of seating that can seat seven or eight people. Every trim comes standard with second-row captain's chairs, but most trims can replace them with a larger bench seat. The top-end Autograph trim includes massage functions for the front seats and captain's chairs. The third row seats are now also heated. There is more knee and legroom in the second row, which also increases by about 10 cm in the third row. The second row can now be moved forward for easier access to the third row without having to remove the child seats.
The 2025 Infiniti QX80 is equipped with a Klipsch audio system. The base stereo system uses 600 watts to power 14 speakers, while the more exotic 1,200 watt setup powers 24 speakers. Infiniti says adding a variety of sound-absorbing materials helps reduce cabin noise.
The QX80 ditches its old 400-hp 5.6-liter V8 engine. in favor of a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 450 hp. The SUV's previous seven-speed automatic transmission has also been replaced with a new nine-speed unit.
The QX80 remains a body-on-frame design, but Infiniti says the frame's lateral stiffness has increased by 57 percent. Its maximum towing capacity is almost 4 tons. A new suspension with adaptive dampers and height-adjustable air springs is installed on all but the base model. Thanks to the air suspension, the QX80's ride height can be lowered by as much as 71 mm to make it easier for passengers to get in and out, or raised by 61 mm for better ground clearance in off-road conditions.
Each model now features electric power steering, replacing the old hydraulic system. The driver can benefit from advanced driver aids such as lane keep assist and Infiniti's new ProPilot Assist 2.1 system. The latter allows the driver, under certain conditions, to remove his hands from the steering wheel when driving on the highway.
The entry-level base Pure model now costs $8,300 more, starting at $84,445. The next level of Luxe starts at $91,545. The price of the older version reaches $112,590.
