Inventories increased noticeably after the Central Bank rate hike
More than 11 thousand truck tractors and 6.5 thousand dump trucks from China have accumulated in Russian warehouses, as reported by Kommersant. with reference to the assessment of «VTB leasing».
The increase in truck inventories occurred due to the cooling of the market in recent months due to the increase in the Central Bank rate even against the backdrop of a slowdown in imports. Director of the Department of Commercial Transport of the Group of Companies «Avtodom» and GC «Autospecial center» Vladimir Zhelobov confirmed the fact of excess supply of cars. He added that the market will stagnate because the key rate will not decrease at the beginning of the year.
At the end of November, there were 2 thousand tractors and 2.5 thousand Shacman dump trucks in warehouses. On average, in the second half of the year, the brand sold 900 tractor units and about 1.2 thousand dump trucks per month. At the same time, by the end of the year, as demand declined, sales declined: in November, the brand sold only 1.7 thousand trucks.
In November, KamAZ remained the leader in the truck market. In the first quarter, KamAZ can show multiple growth in the tractor segment, according to analysts and the plant itself.
In September, we observed a decrease in imports of equipment from China against the backdrop of an increase in recycling collection, changes in exchange rates and an increase in the key rate. Already in October, the import of equipment from China somewhat picked up, and Russian brands continue to increase the production of cars, occupying an increasingly larger market share. Thus, negative factors are partially leveled out.
