Now notebook smartphones are leading the market
Sales of foldable smartphones are growing rapidly around the world. And Huawei led this market in the first quarter, according to TechInsights.
Analysts say Huawei has increased sales of foldable flagships by 257%. There is no data on exact sales in quantitative terms, but the fact is that Huawei has surpassed Samsung in sales. Honor took third place.
Huawei made its main breakthrough in sales of smartphones in the book form factor, while in sales of clamshells, not only does Samsung remain the leader, but Huawei itself has lost a lot over the year, losing, among other things, to Motorola.
At the same time, if previously clamshells sold better due to their significantly lower price, now the lion's share of sales in the market as a whole falls on book-type smartphones. True, this situation has developed mainly due to the Chinese market, while in the USA, Europe, South America and Africa it is folding phones that are leading.
Generally speaking, Motorola showed the greatest growth, increasing sales by an incredible 1260%. Honor increased shipments by 480%, Vivo increased by 331%, but Samsung showed an increase of only 25%, while Oppo's sales generally collapsed by 70%.
