More than 50,000 people missing
Car service centers in Russia are faced with a personnel shortage; the industry lacks more than 50,000 employees. This was stated by the Chairman of the Board of the Union of Automotive Services of Russia Alexander Pakhomov in an interview with TASS.
“The main problem in the industry today is personnel. Our business depends on the competencies of people. Our industry was one of the first to feel the lack of qualified technical specialists. Soviet engineers naturally ran out, and there are not enough new ones. Today in the industry the shortage of qualified personnel who meet the requirements of the subject of work is estimated at more than 50 thousand people,” Pakhomov said.
He added that the situation in the industry will not change in the next five years unless strategic decisions are made in the field of education.
An ideological state program is needed on priority areas in the field of education and personnel training. Until people who carry the value of knowledge appear in society, nothing will change. Today, the import substitution policy must have its own program, in which one of the main points should be the promotion of knowledge.
