Ural has created a road train that can be operated in Arctic off-road conditions at air temperatures of -50 °C. The plant has already successfully tested it.

The Arctic road train with a transportable functional module has successfully passed a set of mandatory tests. This is a wheeled vehicle that is comfortable to operate even at -50 °C. It is capable of moving off-road. Preparation for serial production is planned for 2024.

The road train consists of a truck tractor with a 6 x 6 wheel arrangement and a semi-trailer with active wheel drive. Modules for various purposes can be located on a semi-trailer. This could be a mobile public catering facility, a mobile medical office, an educational center, an auto post.

A special feature of the semi-trailer is that an active drive with a power of 72 kW is connected when necessary to overcome difficult terrain. It is powered by its own diesel generator set with a capacity of 100 kW.

The car received an electric winch with a traction force of up to eight tons, which will help pull out a stuck road train. The main and additional fuel tanks allow you to travel at least 500 km. All fuel systems are equipped with heating elements and hoses.
