Samsung is preparing to begin production of semiconductor products using the 3 nm process technology, thus catching up with TSMC.

The first chip of the new generation is expected to be the Exynos SoC, but not for smartphones. This will be Exynos W1000 for future Samsung smartwatches.

The Galaxy Watch7 line is expected at the end of summer, so Samsung doesn't have much time left. Interestingly, it turns out that Exynos W1000 will be the world's first smartwatch platform, which is produced according to 3 nm standards. For comparison, the current Exynos W930 SoC is manufactured at 5 nm, while the Snapdragon W5 platforms boast a 4 nm process technology. That is, Exynos W1000 will be the most modern in terms of technological process.

For smartwatches this is especially important, given their sometimes far from the best autonomy. But when the first Exynos smartphone SoCs made according to 3 nm standards will appear is still unknown.
