Hypernova Interactive is developing a mobile game called Mayanagari. The project is positioned as Grand Theft Auto in India. Recently, reports appeared online about the closure of the development studio.

According to Indian analyst Rishi Alwani, the Hypernova Interactive studio was forced to close for financial reasons. The studio was unable to raise enough funds to cover development costs. As a result, all employees had to be fired.

IGN India managed to contact studio co-founder Mayur Bhimjiyani, but he only replied that “there is still a lot to be done.” Such an answer does not clarify the situation at all.

There have been no official announcements about the closure of the studio yet, and the game’s page on Google Play is still available.

Mayanagari is being promoted as an open world crime thriller in the style of Grand Theft Auto. The events of the game should unfold on the streets of cities created on the basis of Bombay and Goa. The developers from Hypernova Interactive promise a story campaign in which you will go from a petty thief to the king of the underworld, cut scenes in the style of the best Bollywood action films, many types of cars, as well as a system for managing real estate and your criminal empire.
