Therefore, some openly call for deleting your account and data on the site.
One of the first who was seriously concerned about the problem was user Monica. She shared her story on her personal blog.
Why did this happen?
For years, Glassdoor allowed users to register anonymously.
But in 2021, Glassdoor acquired Fishbowl. In July, it integrated with Glassdoor. This meant that every Glassdoor user automatically received a Fishbowl account. And since Fishbowl requires users to verify their identity, Glassdoor's terms of use have also changed.
Save cannot be deleted
Monica joined Glassdoor about 10 years ago, leaving several reviews for her employers. However, this month she contacted support to remove some of the publicly available information.

She did this because Glassdoor's privacy policy says: “If we have collected and processed your personal information with your consent, you can delete it at any time.”
But instead, the Glassdoor support team, after contacting her, took her real name, which she indicated in her email, and added it to her profile.
“Because we require all users to have their own names on their profiles, we will need to update your profile,” one Glassdoor employee wrote to her.
The company itself assures that the employer does not see this personal information.
This is despite the fact that Monica repeatedly and directly did not agree to Glassdoor keeping her real name: “I would have deleted my account before this allow”.

However, the company refused her.
After deletion, the profile becomes deactivated and employers do not see it. But even after deleting the profile, personal data remains on the site
Therefore, the girl then submitted a request to delete the data as well. The period for deleting data is 30 days. Potentially, during this time there may be a certain failure or information leak.
“Glassdoor now requires your real name and will add it to old accounts without your consent. Your only option is to delete your account…,” she admitted.
