Head of Roscosmos: Russia will produce up to eight heavy Angara-A5 rockets per year

Production Association «Polyot» (part of Roscosmos) when operating at maximum power, it should be capable of launching up to eight heavy launch vehicles «Angara-A5» in year. This was announced by Roscosmos General Director Yuri Borisov during his visit to the enterprise. Borisov noted that the maximum production capacity of NPP «Pole» — about eight heavy missiles «Angara-A5» per year plus light missiles «Angara-1.2» and this is «a very serious volume of commercial products». 

The head of Roscosmos believes that in the near future, within a year and a half, it will be possible to complete the reconstruction of the enterprise and reach maximum design capacity. Earlier, Borisov reported that the first launch of the heavy launch vehicle «Angara-A5» from the Vostochny Cosmodrome can be carried out in the first ten days of April 2024. It is also planned to create a modification of the «Angara-A5» with a reusable unit that will be designed for ten flights. A new family of domestic rockets uses environmentally friendly fuel components.
