“Join us for a collective moment of catharsis, camaraderie and cat howling. Let's gather at Yerba Buena and let's all shout together when the clock strikes noon.”
The developers gathered at GDC decided to organize a rather unusual event, which they themselves called GDScream. Protesters took to the lawn to shout and howl at the sky.
The howl was organized by Epic Games producer Caryl Shaw and Fortnite festival designer Scott John Siegel. As Siegel said in a conversation with reporters, the idea for the action arose against the backdrop of the growing scandal with Gamergate 2.0 and large-scale cuts in the gaming industry, which do not even think of coming to an end.
“At the end of the day, it's hard to be here and pretend that everything is fine in our industry, let alone the world, when nothing is at all.”
