In 2023, fines amounting to 141 billion rubles were imposed on Russians for violating traffic rules through photo and video cameras. Kommersant writes about this. with reference to open statistics of the State Traffic Inspectorate.

In 2023, 220.9 million decisions were issued through cameras for a total of 140.9 billion rubles. Of this amount, almost 76.5 billion rubles were paid by the end of the year. The total amount of fines for 2023 is a record for the last five years. In 2022, decisions were made in the amount of 112.9 billion rubles, in 2021 — by 104.1 billion rubles in 2020 — by 94.2 billion rubles, and in 2019 — by 82.8 billion rubles.

In total, 237.6 million fines were issued to Russians for traffic violations last year, which is 36.4 million more than in 2022. The total amount of fines imposed was 170.2 billion rubles. Moscow accounted for 41.5 million fines amounting to 31.7 billion rubles, and the Moscow region — 39.9 million fines in the amount of 24.4 billion rubles.
