Perhaps other companies will join as well
The new line of Aurus cars will be produced at the former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg in partnership with the Chinese automaker, as stated by the editor-in-chief of «Behind the Wheel» Maxim Kadakov.
«It will definitely be one of the Chinese manufacturers. The most likely, as I see it, could be the Hongqi brand, although collaborations with other manufacturers are not excluded, — said Kadakov.
He added that premium Chinese cars, which Hongqi produces, will also be assembled at the site. However, as the expert noted, these could be other companies.
The former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg has already been transferred to the Aurus company, as announced yesterday by Acting Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
Before this, it was reported that Aurus would begin production of a new line of business-class cars at the former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg together with a foreign partner.
