The rating of the most reliable SUVs and crossovers over the past ten years was compiled by HotCars, which used data on breakdowns and reliability from J.D. Power, Edmunds, RepairPal, NHTSA and CarEdge.

First place was taken by the Lexus GX 2012 with a reliability rating of 89/100. Following are the 2017 Toyota 4Runner with a score of 88/100 and the 2010 Toyota RAV4, which received the same 88/100. The 2018 Kia Sportage and 2017 Buick Encore took fourth and fifth place with a rating of 87/100.

Sixth place went to the 2015 Hyundai Tucson with a rating of 86 points, followed by the third generation BMW X3 with 85 points. Eighth place was awarded to the 2020 Honda CR-V with a score of 84 points; the top ten was completed by the Lexus RX 2015 and BMW X5 2020, which scored 83 and 82 points, respectively.

In 11th place was the Sequoia SUV, based on the Toyota Tundra. Next comes the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2015 Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX-5, GMC Yukon and 2016 Ford Expedition.
