There is no need to even talk about the fact that the Japanese have very specific tastes. But when it comes to the category of the most anticipated games of 2024, they largely agree with the West.
As they do every year, the Famitsu team conducted a survey on the most anticipated products coming to market in the next few months, maybe even years. This year's rating revealed a trend in what the Japanese are looking forward to and what they are focusing on when making purchases in 2024.
According to the published rating, the most anticipated game in Japan was the second part remake of Final Fantasy VII, FF7 Rebirth, which will be released in a few months. In second place, not surprisingly, is another Yakuza, also known as Like A Dragon with the addition of Infinite Wealth. Third place on the podium goes to the remake of the third Persona, the portable edition of which got out of PSP prison after many years. Next on the list are Tekken 8, Pragma, Ushiro, Paper Mario RPG (also a remake), Shiren the Wanderer 6, a spin-off of the Mystery Dungeon series, which will also appear in Europe in 2024.
