Lada Iskra to be presented on June 5
Vice President of the National Automobile Union (NAU) Jan Hajtseer said that the Lada Iskra in medium or good trim levels will approach the starting price of the Lada Vesta (about 1.24 million rubles).
Head of the analytical agency “Autostat” Sergey Tselikov assessed the prospects of the Lada Iskra as “very good”, noting that the price will be decisive: “If the plant offers an adequate price, everything that will be produced will sell easily. “Iskra” will occupy the empty niche between the “Granta” and «Vesta», where Chinese automakers have not yet been able to enter and are unlikely to be able to«.
He added that Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio, Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Rapid and Renault Logan have left the market: «Lada Vesta remains. And Granta is still popular, since it is the most affordable car in Russia. I would «Granta» did not discontinue production».
President of the Union of Automobile Dealers Vyacheslav Zhigalov gave his price forecast: «Approximately between Granta and Vesta – close to the price category of cars in which the new product is located. It is slightly larger than the Lada Granta, and will, accordingly, be slightly more expensive».
The announcement of the Lada Iskra will take place on June 5, 2024, as part of the SPIEF-2024.
